Morning Sickness Symptoms

Between the 4th and the 6th week of pregnancy, a pregnant woman’s body is flooded with pregnancy hormones. This can often lead to various pregnancy symptoms otherwise known as morning sickness symptoms.

Right after the fertilized egg attaches itself into the uterus, the body’s hormone levels will begin to increase dramatically. There are many different hormones which are known to increase during pregnancy and are most often abundant during the first three months of pregnancy. Some hormones are notable due to their unpleasant effects in the body. These hormones include progesterone, estrogen, and Human chorionic gonadotrophin or (hCG). Women undergoing pregnancy often times experience morning sickness symptoms at the early stage of the first trimester.

Morning sickness simply translates to nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. During the first three months of pregnancy, women are known to experience nausea and vomiting. Nausea and vomiting is known to occur early mornings, so that’s probably how morning sickness got its name.  Women with morning sickness may experience nausea and vomiting early in the morning before getting out of bed. Episodes of nausea and vomiting don’t just occur early mornings the symptoms can occur anytime during the day, depending how bad is your morning sickness.

Increased hormones can cause several unpleasant effects in the body, and one of it is sensitivity to odors. During pregnancy, women are noticeable sensitive to odors. Odors from cigarette smoke, car exhaust, the smell of greasy foods and seafood can easily trigger nausea. The simplest solution to odor sensitivity during pregnancy is to avoid it. Bringing your favorite scents along with you can also prevent nausea from developing. Just take a quick sniff at your favorite scent to ward off any unpleasant odors.

During pregnancy, you will also find that the food’s you used to love before you got pregnant seem to be less appealing. Some women even find certain foods nauseating during pregnancy. Often times, women crave for bizarre food combination’s. These are common experiences during pregnancy, and it’s known to be the symptoms of pregnancy.

Thankfully, women suffering from morning sickness symptoms can expect relief. Between 14 and 16 weeks of pregnancy, the hormones will start to decline and along with it are morning sickness symptoms. Right after several weeks of nausea and vomiting, we can all go back to our normal lives and enjoy pregnancy as it should be.
